A Cup Of Wine And Poetry

I still remember that day
I first caught you with my eye
And now - come what ever may
I want to have you nigh

Left with just darkness of my mind
I begin to wonder
How did you become so inclined
The doubt strikes like a thunder

Onward! Into the night I walk
Hoping I shall see you soon
To the stars I look and talk
Until there appears the Moon

Velvety the rime shines bright
On the bridge across the river
Ominous glare - silvery-white
But it is you who makes me shiver

Endlessly I stare into the black water
That runs faster when it's night
How could there be someone hotter
Than you in the pale moonlight

You are the cause of this my vigil
I stand alone and in the frost
Bearing your mark, your sigil
Any time, at any cost

On the onset of this new day
I bid farewell to all the stars
Their silver light now turns to grey
But not the one that we call ours

Unabated is my desire
To hold you close, to hold you tight
To have you burning like a fire
To have you whole, come day or night
